The Way I See It - A Reflection on Christianity and Homosexuality

Image result for cross clipart

If you’re like me, these recent events have been very unsettling. Unfortunately, we knew this day would come. On Friday, June 26th, 2015, the Supreme Court legalized same-sex marriage…
Sin has always been a part of the lifestyle here in America. Think about it. There are places in the US where prostitution is legal. Also, last time I checked, the government won’t arrest you for cheating on your spouse or engaging in pornography (Unless you’re engaging in child pornography and if that’s the case, don’t let me find you). Christians know these things are sins yet they are legal. Now the government has legalized same sex marriage. This is just another sin that people are “allowed” to commit in legal respect. That said, Christians cannot engage in this with a clear conscience and they know it.  I believe that is why so many people are still pushing Christians. They are trying to get us to acknowledge their actions and tell them they are O.K. We are now in a country where Bible Believing is considered bigoted and absurd.
I’ve seen many posts regarding this and I have also seen many people claiming to be Christians and gay. Here’s the truth about what the Bible says regarding homosexuality. Be fair-warned, truth hurts.
In Romans Chapter 1, The Bible references this in great detail. Beginning in verse 18 in the NIV, it reads,
“The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities-His eternal power and divine nature-have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.
For although they knew God, they neither glorified Him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles.
Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshipped and served created things rather than the Creator-who is forever praised. Amen.
Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.
Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, He gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.”
Now that’s a lot to swallow but I don’t think it can get any clearer than that. The Bible calls engaging in homosexuality for what it is, a sin. That’s a part of the Bible homosexual “Christians” try to hide. They’ll interpret it, somehow, to read differently. They’ll make up excuses, call us bigots, etc. Unfortunately for them, a sin, is a sin, is a sin. They can’t change that.
Before this is misinterpreted however, let me be clear. I am not judging them. I too am a sinner. In fact, if you read a little farther in Romans, The Bible states in Romans 3: 23-26 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented Him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in His blood…”

I think a big misinterpretation going on right now through our community is that God and true Christians hate gays. That’s just not true. We can still show love to everyone, even in the face of persecution. We do not have to condone their behavior or pretend it’s right to make them feel better. We should not be spreading hate but showing God’s love to the nation. This nation is under attack, but we can still be the beacons of light. Show grace and love to our neighbors and witness to them. Now more than ever, we need to show the nation what Christians really are. If we do not, the media will and I guarantee you, it will not be an accurate interpretation.

A Poem for My Wife

You've often asked, why do I love you?
The simple answer, is because you’re you.
I realize for you that may not be enough
So I’ll try to elaborate even though it may be tough.

I love you because you’re unique
I’d shout it from the highest peak.
I love you because you’re special to me
That look in your eye when you look back at me.
I love that we can have entire conversations without saying a word
The thought of living without you, to me, is just absurd.
I love how we laugh about the silly things
The light from you, your smile brings.
That you’re always there when I need you most
When talking about you, I gladly boast.

When I first saw you, I knew
I cannot explain why
But on that rainy day, I met my best friend, the love of my life.
You are the dream I chased when I was young
The prayer I prayed each night
The wish I sent with a shooting star so bright.
You may not believe it, but when I look at you
I see my everything, my whole world
My dream come true.

Jerky That's Perky! (Review)

I don't know about you, but when I'm craving a delicious snack on the run or at the office, it doesn't take long for my brain to lean towards Beef Jerky! Beef jerky is a man's best friend! That's why I'm pleased to introduce you to Perky Jerky!

I'm pretty sure once I open up a bag of beef jerky, that bag will be empty that same day no matter the size. I'm also pretty sure I'm trying to stay healthier this year and that is not something I can afford to do on a whim. So any time I can find a healthy alternative to something I love in life, I'm very excited. That's one of the perks, no pun intended, of perky jerky!

Perky jerky is an all natural product! That doesn't stop them from showing some flare in their design though. Just check these packages out!

Right from the moment you get one of these in your hands, you know you've got a product the company cares about. They also want to stand out as a one of a kind option on the table and this packaging does just that!

You may also notice one package shows a picture of a bull and the other a turkey. That's because, you guessed it, this great jerky comes in beef and turkey! Each type comes in 4 different flavors as well. Original (what I tried), Sweet & Spicy, Hot & Bothered, and Teriyaki. I plan on trying them all soon but I had the original in both turkey and the traditional beef.

Both types of jerky were some of the most tender jerky I had.  I was surprised actually at just how tender it was. I guess because I'm used to getting beef jerky from the store and you never know what kind you'll get in terms of dryness. This stuff was a pleasant surprise however.

I was also pleased to see that they are a product of the good ole US of A. They're all natural and contain no preservatives, nitrites, or MSG added. Here are some more details from the back of the beef package.

No that's not a typo on their bag by the way. You can eat the entire bag for roughly 180 calories!!! That in and of itself was awesome for me because realistically, as I mentioned earlier, once that bag is open and I smell the jerky, it won't be saved for later.

The turkey jerky is even less calories.  Just check this out.

So as you can see, this stuff won't stand in the way of your healthy eating habits.  I can eat the whole bag, especially the turkey, and not feel like I just committed a crime. If you haven't already, I suggest you give this stuff a try! One of you will be lucky enough to win some from my blog but for the rest of you, check out their website here and get some today! You won't regret it! Perky Jerky also has a page on Facebook that you can check out here. Go like them today!

Nutri-Grain Fruit & Oat Harvest Bars Review - #NGHarvest

"I participated in an Influencer Program on behalf of Mom Central for Nutri-Grain. I received product samples and promotional item to thank me for participating."

It's 7:30 A.M., you were supposed to be up 30 minutes ago but slept through your alarm. Now you have to rush to get ready and head out the door to work before you end up being late! What do you sometimes sacrifice when you find yourself in this type of situation? For me, it's breakfast. I decide to either grab something on the way (a high calorie, poor alternative), or simply bypass breakfast all together and try to wait for lunch.

Grabbing something on the way is a bad habit I try to avoid since most options in the fast food industry are just absolutely terrible for you. Skipping breakfast is not a good option either though. If you're like me, skipping breakfast leaves you feeling tired and unmotivated way before lunch time approaches. Why not try something simple that you can take with you on the run instead? My family is familiar with Nutri-Grain and enjoy their various products. Now I'm please to show you a newer addition to their list.

Nutri-Grain Fruit & Oat Harvest bars are a delicious option for mornings on the run but you don't have to be in a rush to enjoy one! These things come packed with real fruit and whole grains.  In fact, they have 4g protein per serving! You can see more information on them at Nutri-Grain on Facebook

My wife, Trista, enjoyed the country strawberry bar while I fell for the blueberry bliss option.

About halfway through, we switched to try both flavors.  We were both impressed with the taste of these hearty bars. They fill you up with the protein and if you like granola bars and fruit, these are really a win win for you! Here's a closer pic with the blueberry bliss bar on the left and the country strawberry on the right.

So you may be thinking by now, where can I buy these? Well thankfully they are available at most retailers nationwide. They are also very affordable! There are 5 to a box and are sold usually around $3.59 per box. That's less than $.75 for a meal on the go for your entire work week.  You can't beat that! Go get some now, you won't regret it!

The Benefits of Cord Banking #CordBlood411

“I participated in a campaign on behalf of Dad Central for the Cord Blood Registry. I received a promotional item(s) to thank me for my participation.”

Bags are packed. Room is ready. Clothes are bought. Diapers are on hand. Few things compare to welcoming a new baby boy or girl into this world! As a Dad, we have a job to do getting things ready for our little miracle. While our wives handle the major duties, we can still help in many different ways. When our youngest daughter was born, I was already experienced enough that things went very smoothly.  We had everything ready and were prepared for anything. Thankfully, everything went smoothly and our baby girl was born healthy and problem free. That is not always the case though and that’s what I want to discuss with you today.
When our bundle of joy was born, we did not bank her cord blood. Unfortunately we were not really offered the option or even told about it. I strongly feel that if parents today were given more information on the topic during the stages of pregnancy, they would definitely see the benefit.

So what are cord blood stem cells? Stem cells themselves are immature cells in the body that can potentially become other types of cells and form organs and tissues. Basically, they are the pieces that put the puzzle together. When a baby is born, the umbilical cord is clamped and cut leaving some blood in the blood vessels of the placenta and the attached portion of the umbilical cord. This cord is rich in powerful blood-forming stem cells. Choosing to bank those cells can help treat cancers, immune diseases, blood disorders, and even metabolic disorders.

That's why cord banking is so important. Just ask the Cord Blood Registry company. Cord Blood Registry is the world’s largest newborn stem cell company today. They have been around since 1992 and since then, have been entrusted by parents with storing more than 500,000 cord blood and cord tissue units! They are paving the way for FDA-regulated clinical trials all in an effort to explore the use of newborn stem cells to treat serious conditions faced by people today such as autism, cerebral palsy, and traumatic brain injury.

The research provided is really innovative stuff! That’s why they also found that Cord Blood Stem Cells can help treat acquired hearing loss. Did you know around 15 percent of children suffer from hearing loss, the most common being sensorineural? A child’s ability to hear impacts their development of language skills and overall academic and social development. Using Cord Blood Stem Cells can help trigger the body’s own repair mechanisms which could provide an alternative to the normal options of hearing aids or cochlear implants.

For more information on hearing loss and how Cord Blood Stem Cells can help, see the picture below!

Given the vast advantages to storing Cord Blood Stem Cells for your little one, I honestly do not see why you wouldn't. To learn more about this great option, check out As an added bonus, you can earn a $200.00 discount on @cordblood  banking with Cord Blood Registry! Simply go to the link above and complete their information request by March 24th.

Monster Jam at Quicken Loans Arena

This year my family is looking forward to Valentine’s Day and it’s not because of flowers or chocolates. Though the boys will never turn away chocolates nor would Trista turn away flowers. Instead we are excited because we will be going to see Monster Jam when it comes to Cleveland, Ohio!
